For every order, we try to renew your old devices back into the market—recovering value for you and putting your old devices back into the hands of someone who can use it. We believe that reuse is the highest form of recycling, because every item that is reused means that one fewer needs to be created. Some devices we receive, we send to wholesale partners based in the United States, like Recellular, Inc., who refurbishes and then resells the devices. If your device no longer functions or doesn't have value, we ensure that it is recycled in the United States with our partner recycler, WeRecycle, Inc.

For every device recycled, we at YouRenew.com give you the chance to tell us how to give towards environmental causes. We give you two choices: give towards domestic renewable energy production or plant one tree. Either way, it’s up to you!

Option 1: Donate towards a Renewable Energy Certificate

Not only is recycling an important way to clean up the world, creating new ways to power the world is too. Supporting third-party certified wind power projects incentivizes carbon-neutral renewable energy by reducing the price of electricity generated from renewable sources, thus making it more competitive compared to coal, gas and oil generated sources. For every 20 people who recycle their device and choose to support renewable energy, we at YouRenew.com will donate a one metric ton carbon offset to help forward renewable energy projects in the United States.

Option 2: Plant a Tree

For every four people who choose to “plant a tree,” we plant one real tree through AmericanForests.org. They have planted millions of acres of trees so far and are leaders in reforestation efforts worldwide.
